You Win Some, You Lose Some

9 06 2012

I can’t say I didn’t see a loss for the Kings coming.

My beard is better than your beard…

Sweeping a series is unbelievably hard, and the Devils got to the Finals for a reason:  they’re a great team.  I hate to admit it, strictly because I do want to see the Kings win so badly, but if history serves us, when a good team goes down 3-0 in a series and their backs are against the wall, you see some magical hockey being played in Game 4.  Marty Brodeur was on like Donkey Kong, which is the least you could expect from a future Hall of Famer.  The interesting part was that even though the Devils scored 3 goals, Jonathan Quick wasn’t playing poorly.  He never does.

So why did the Kings lose?  They got cocky and too confident.  They didn’t keep the pedal to the metal in Game 4 and they didn’t play better than the Devils.  It almost looked like the ice was tilted in favor of the Devils, considering how much time was spent in the Kings’ end.  But, as the old saying goes, tomorrow is another day.  And in the last few years, the Stanley Cup has been awarded on the road.

Do you think it’ll happen again?  Who is going to win Game 5?  Let us know in the comments!
